About Me.

I am a young artist, who is constantly searching for clarity.

I am interested in the defining trait of being human.

Sarah Steger
M.A. Bildende Kunst – Künstlerische Konzeptionen //                      Master Fine Arts – Artistic Concepts

Sarah Stegers Interesse liegt in der Frage: was bleibt vom Menschen?

Sarah Steger’s interest lies in the question: what remains of the human being. She treats images of human beings and their physicality in their materiality.

In her works Steger illustrates this fragility on the one hand through the motifs that appear there, on the other hand through the use of the materials. Most of the materials that she uses are characterized in conventional use by the fact that they create or enhance stability: First of all, wire, iron, copper, bronze are hard, solid and stable in their materiality. But as time passes and exposed to the influences of the environment, the fragility of man and his work becomes apparent.

The artist’s works are both massive and fragile, aging incessantly.
